OPENING: from end of June until middle of October
"A corner of paradise in Catinaccio"
The refuge, which is owned by the S.A.T. (Società Alpinisti Trentini [Trentino Mountaineering Society]) and was completely refurbished in 2008, appears on the southern slopes of the Catinaccio (Rosengarten) on the Sella del Ciampaz, at the foot of the Croz di S. Giuliana at 2,283 m in altitude.
It is a typical alpine refuge, which is not directly accessible by cable car or chairlift and so is still able to offer the appeal of adventure that makes getting there such a unique experience.
It enjoys an enviable position with breathtaking views, extending from the Lagorai, to the Pale di S. Martino, across to the Marmolada, the Sella and ending at the Cigolade.
It can be accessed via easy routes and is an ideal departure point both for those who want to experience the mountain by climbing or undertaking long hikes, or those who simply want to enjoy a pleasant walk immersed in the unique scenery. The refuge is surrounded by numerous mountain paths with varying levels of difficulty.
Prepare to be delighted by the divine cooking that is also AFC-certified[LE1] .
The refuge management aims to immerse you in the very essence of these mountains and offers everyone the opportunity to experience this enchanting world that is the Catinaccio Group.
The refuge has 50 beds.
This family-run refuge offers a warm and friendly welcome.
