Description

A castle in the mountains

Rifugio Bolzano appears at 2,457 m in altitude on the Sciliar plateau, a mountain that is symbolic of the Alto Adige.

This structure looks like a castle, surrounded by the massifs of the Sassolungo, Sassopiatto, Catinaccio and Latemar mountain systems.

Since 1976, the Gasser family has offered alpine sports enthusiasts a well-deserved rest, a warm welcome and comfortable accommodation in one of the prettiest refuges in the Alto Adige. Husband and wife team Harald and Silvia have run this refuge with passion since 1999. It was previously run by Silvia’s parents, Hilde and Rudolf until 1998. This refuge aims to offer great hospitality, clean and welcoming accommodation and, last but not least, good food and innovative ideas.

Here, everything is steeped in the typical atmosphere of a mountain refuge; there is no direct road access (supplies come via the cable car and, if necessary, by helicopter). Come and enjoy the traditional and unique atmosphere of a stube, which is simple yet cosy, and offers individual bedrooms, as well as dorms. There are 120 beds available for your well-deserved rest.

We will be happy to host you during your stay!

Silvia and Harald
